    Androsace villosa has a wide distribution area from mountains of C & E Europe through SW Asia to W Himalaya. In Greece it is found on rocky limestone slopes at 1700–2300 m in a few localities in the north, forming attractive, grey-villous cushions or small mats covered with whitish flowers becoming rose-pink with age.A
