Caroxylon accepted as a segregate genus different from Salsola, according to Akhani & al. (2007). For this and other taxa concerned, see Synonyms. – C. vermiculatum absent from Greece (Greuter & al. 1984: 311), its synonym Salsola vermiculata misapplied in Greece to C. aegaeum (see Rechinger 1943: 67, under Salsola aegaea).
