Notes

Two supspecies of this xenophyte of pantropical origin are recorded from Greece which differ in their ecology. Subsp. emarginatus is established in northern Greece along lake shores and river banks which periodically fall dry in autumn, subsp. pseudogracilis is chiefly a garden weed on fertilized, irrigated grounds, so far only collected once in Crete but to be expected elsewhere.
