Description
Sparingly branched shrub or small tree up to 12 m, all young parts with dense, rufous tomentum which persists on flowers and inflorescences.
Leaves multijugate, up to 60 (or more) by 32 cm;
Inflorescence a cluster of specialized leafy branches forming a terminal crown;
Petals 5, broadly triangular, c. 2 mm long.
Stamens 5, anthers curved.
Ovary turbinate, rufous-tomentose, c. 1.5 mm long at anthesis;
Fruit ellipsoidal, c. 9 by 5 mm (when dry), the calyx and stylopodium prominent.
