Description

Tree up to 35 m tall, hemi-epiphytic or (secondarily?) terrestrial. internal hairs absent. Leaves spirally ar- ranged; stipules 1-2(-6) cm long, ± densely brown to greyish floccose-tomentose (to -subvillous), caducous (or subpersistent). Ovary red.

Notes

1Some collections, in particular from the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra, have relatively long laminas (longer than 15 cm) and petioles (longer than 2.5 cm) and relatively large fig receptacles (more than 1.2 cm diam. - var. muronti). 2 According to Corner (1965: 15) the species also occurs in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, but that could not be confirmed.
