Thottea dependens

Description

Erect shrub, up to 2.5 m high. Leaves chartaceous, elliptic, obovate, rarely ovate, 12-29 by 5-15 cm; Inflorescences at the basal part of the stem, in the axils of leaves or fallen leaves, or cauliflorous, simple or sparsely branched, up to 4 (-7) cm long, pubescent; Stamens in 2 whorls: Capsules slender, 5-10 cm long, 4-angular, straight or slightly twisted at the apical part. Seeds ellipsoid, trigonous, 3-4 mm long, acute at both ends, rugose-tubercled.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present, Singapore present), Pahang present, Penang present, Perak present, Selangor present, Trengganu present
Malesia: Malay Peninsula (Perak, Din-dings, Trengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Penang, Singapore).

Uses

Leaves used as medicine for cutaneous disease.
