Barringtonia badia

Description

Trees, to 35 m tall; Leaves clustered at end of branches; Inflorescences terminal, pendulous; Flowers sessile, small, 3-4 mm long; Fruits ovoid, 7-10 by 3-5 cm, green turning brown with age, exocarp smooth, ferrugineous puberulous, rounded or tapering towards apex and base. Seeds single, ovoid.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia endemic), Johore present, Pahang present, Terengganu present
Malesia: Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia (Terengganu, Pahang and Johore).
