Levieria scandens

Description

A woody liana, lateral shoots c. 1.5 mm Ø, when young densely covered with minute appressed hairs. Leaves closely set along the branches; Inflorescence usually of simple dichasia, minutely hairy, terminating the lateral branches and in their upper axils.

Asia-Tropical, Papua New Guinea present, Telefomin Subprov present, West Sepik Prov present
Malesia: Papua New Guinea (West Sepik Prov., Telefomin Subprov.).

Notes

The small lanceolate-ovate leaves are un-matched in any other species of the genus. Other spe-cies occasionally show straggling growth, but this species appears to be a true liana.
