Description

Tree 3-8 m. Leaves thinly chartaceous, elliptic(-oblong), 7-15 by 3-6.5 cm, base rounded to attenuate, apex acute(-acuminate); Inflorescences with dense woolly hairs (0.7-)l-2 mm long; Fruits (immature) oblong, obtuse at both ends, glabrous, 1 by 0.7 cm;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Sarawak present), W Kalimantan present
Malesia: Borneo (Sarawak: 1st, 2nd, 4th Div.; W Kalimantan).

Taxonomy

Horsfieldia paucinervis belongs to the group of species with pubescent leaves to which also belong H. gracilis, H. reticulata, H. rufo-lanata, H. splendida, and H. tomentosa; it seems especially related to H. gracilis.
