Kibara microphylla

Description

A shrub (?) with glabrous branchlets. Leaves ellip-tic to narrowly elliptic, 7.5-11 by 2-3.5 cm, mem-branous, base cuneate, apex acuminate, margin en-tire or irregularly dentate, midrib evident, principal veins arched and uniting within the margin, gla-brous; Inflorescences axillary or terminal, gla-brous, c. 2.5-5 cm long, of small simple cymes or panicles with delicate peduncle and branches; Fruits not seen.

Asia-Tropical, Papua New Guinea present, Torricelli Mts present, West Sepik Prov present
Malesia: Papua New Guinea (West Sepik Prov.: Torricelli Mts).

Notes

I have not seen the type collection, but a specimen collected at the same locality agrees with the original description in all respects, except that the leaf margins are not entire but irregularly dentate. The small leaves and very delicate inflorescences of this specimen leave no doubt that it represents K. mi-crophylla.
