Description

Shrub or tree up to 12 m tall; internal hairs abundant to sparse, whitish. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 0.3-1.2 cm long, only ciliolate, caducous.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Thailand (Thailand present), Myanmar present, S China present
Myanmar, S China, Indochina, Thailand; in Malesia: Malay Peninsula, Borneo.

Morphology

The species is rather uniform, with some variation in the shape of the lamina and the length of the peduncle.

Uses

The bark is used for string.
