Ficus halmaherae

Description

Tree up to c. 30 m tall. internal hairs abundant, yellowish. stipules c. 2.5 cm long, hirtellous, persistent.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Maluku (Maluku present), Gn. Sembilan present, Halmahera present
Moluccas (Halmahera: Gn. Sembilan).

Taxonomy

This species (only known by the type collection) is distinct by the irritating hairs on the leafy twigs and figs. It resembles F. hirta var. roxburghii.
