Description

Tree up to 32 m, 70 m dbh. Leaves oblong to (ob)lanceolate, 7-40 by 3-10 cm, nar- rowly cuneate at base, acutish or shortly acuminate at apex, coriaceous, glabrous above, slightly hairy on midrib beneath, in basal part beneath with 1-4 in- distinct glands 0.2 mm diam.; Flowers 5-6 mm long, white, fra- grant, on 1-5 mm long pedicels. Sepals obovate- spathulate, 4-5.5 mm long, glabrous except for the margin, the outer ones ciliate to base, the inner ones ciliate only apically. Petals free over c. 3 mm, the free parts reflexed during flowering; Ovary glabrous; Fruit 2-4 cm diam., apically with a hairy remnant of the style. Seeds elliptic, c. 1.5 by 1 cm;
