Description
Shrub 2-5 m high.
Branchlets slightly lenticellate.
Leaves in whorls of 3 or opposite;
Inflorescence 3-4 cm long, terminal, lax, 5-8-flowered;
Sepals ovate, 1.5-1.6 by 1-1.1 mm, 1.45-1.5 times as long as wide, apex acute to acuminate, glabrous.
Stamens inserted at c. 5 mm from base, c. 0.9 of the length of the corolla tube;
Fruit syncarpous, ovoid, 11-11.5 by 10 mm, 1.1-1.15 times as long as wide, laterally compressed, consisting of 2 mericarps, sometimes only 1 carpel developing, glabrous, apex rounded.
Seeds 1 in each endocarp, narrowly ovoid, 8-8.2 by 2-2.3, 3.6-4 times as long as wide, acute, glabrous.
