Ficus globosa

Description

Climber, or hemi-epiphytic shrub or treelet. internal hairs absent. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 0.5-1.5(-6) cm long, with sparse to dense dark brown appressed indumentum or subglabrous, caducous. Ovary partly reddish.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Jawa (Jawa present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present); Thailand (Thailand present), Banka present, Myanmar present
Myanmar, Thailand; in Malesia: Sumatra (incl. Riouw, Lingga, Banka), Malay Peninsula, Java, Borneo.

Morphology

The presence of dark brown appressed minute hairs on the leafy twigs and fig receptacles is characteristic. Similar indumentum is found in some other species, in particular F. kochummeniana.
