Description
Undershrubs, usually dioecious. Flowers unisexual, solitary in the leaf axils; perianth connate to the middle, 5-lobed; fruiting perianth membranous without appendages and unmodified opposite the radicle, not or scarcely accrescent. Pericarp crustaceous, overtopping the perianth; seeds vertical; embryo annular; radicle superior. Two to three spp., Australia.
