Onopordum majorii Beauverd
Synonymy
Notes
There is considerable controversy as to the orthography of the epithet. The species is devoted to the paleontologist Ch. I. Forsyth-Major who collected intensively in the Aegean archipelago, hence the epithet majori as accepted in Davis (1975: 364) and in the International Plant Names Index (IPNI). Other sources use “majoris” which is considered a not recommended orthographic variant.
