The record for the Cretan area of Muscari cycladicum subsp. cycladicum (Euro+Med 2006–) should be regarded as erroneous since it is not backed by literature sources or herbarium specimens. Records of Muscari cycladicum subsp. subsessile for the Cretan area (Bentzer 1973) are likely to refer to M. spreitzenhoferi or M. weissii and must be regarded as dubious (A. Strid).
