Wood

Vessels diffuse, solitary, round to oval, and slightly angular, 2-6(1-7) per sq. mm, diameter 140-210(115-230) μm. Vessel-member length: 1797-2150(1470-2352) μm. Perforations scalariform, 20-30 (18-35) bars per plate, centre of the plates often foraminate. Intervascular pits opposite, round and elongated, 7-7x26 μm. Vessel-ray and vessel-parenchyma pits similar to, or more elongated than the intervascular pits.
Rays in 2 types, 5-8 per mm, uni-(bi-)seriate, up to 2800 μm (= 30 cells) high, heterogeneous, composed of upright and some square cells; and multiseriate, 5-12 cells wide, up to 6000-8000 μm (= 120 to over 150 cells) high, often with long uniseriate tails, heterogeneous, composed of procumbent cells in the multiseriate part, and of upright and square cells at the margins. Multiseriate rays with many sheath cells. Rhombic crystals (2 to 4)in chambered ray cells.
Parenchyma apotracheal in short wavy, tangential bands, one cell wide, and diffuse, and some scanty paratracheal cells. Strands 6-14 cells. Rhombic crystals, in rows of 4-8(12), in subdivided parenchyma cells.
Fibres non-septate, lumen 14-18 μm, walls 9-14(18) μm. Pits bordered, on radial and tangential walls, 9-14 μm in diameter. Length: 3073-3473(2530-3969) μm. FN ratio: 1.48-1.71.
