Description

Subannual or perennial climbers; Leaves: Inflorescences (from D. palmatus): Fruit berry-like, solitary or few-fascicled, broadly ovoid or ellipsoid or subglobose, shortly rostrate or not, exocarp thin. Seeds tumid, pyriform with strongly convex faces, margin thick, edge grooved.

Africa present, Austral-Asia present, Old World present
A genus of c. 5 species in the Old World, all in Africa, of which 1 species also widely distributed in Austral-Asia
