Asia-Temperate: China Southeast (Hong Kong present), Ceylon present, Dehra Dun present, Himalayas present, Malaysia present, Melanesia present, Riu Kiu Isl present, northern Queensland present, southern China present

Ceylon, from the Himalayas (Dehra Dun eastwards) to southern China, Hong Kong, Riu Kiu Isl., south and south-east to Melanesia and northern Queensland, throughout Malaysia.

Uses

For tying rice sheaves; in native medicine for skin diseases and fever.
