Description

Tree 10-35 m, 20-80 cm ø; Branchlets initially densely yellowish brown to rufous-tomentose by adpressed stellate hairs, later glabrous, greyish to blackish brown, sparsely lenticellate; Leaves thin -coriaceous, (7-)9-12(-15) by (2½-)3-5(-6) cm (index (2-)2½-3(-4)), broadest at or rarely above the middle; Stipules linear-acute, 2½-3½ by ⅔-1 mm. Inflorescence male or androgynous, densely greyish to yellowish brown stellate hairy;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present, Singapore present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Banka present, Johore present, Kelantan present, Negri Sembilan present
Malesia: Sumatra (scattered), Banka (common), Malay Peninsula (Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, frequent in Johore; Singapore), Borneo (scattered, mainly N. of the equator).

Notes

Philippine records of L. bennettii were based on specimens of L. solerianus or L. sulitii.
