KEY TO THE SPECIES

1Hypogynous scales hardly clawed, almost sessile, obovate, narrowed at the base, usually with a minute curled mucro at the truncate apex; bristles usually wanting. Mostly rather stout perennial; leaves glabrous or ciliate only at the base, very rarely pubescent, (5-)8-15(-25) mm wide.
