Description

Trees. Flowers with an androgynophore, petals adnate to it. Stamens 5, free, sometimes with a whorl of staminodes. Capsule woody or membraneous, with a soft colu- mella. Seeds winged at one or both ends; cotyledons flat, leaf-like; residual endosperm present.
