Taxonomy

A rather variable species. Specimens from New Britain have terminal inflorescences and subcarnose pods. Specimens formerly described as A. chrysocarpum have greenish-yellow pods. Because the variation seems to be in single characters only no subspecific categories have been proposed (cf. Nielsen 1982: 485).
