Western Malesia and to Flores present
The typical form occurs in mountain forest in Western Malesia and to Flores.

Notes

In Malaya there seems to be no sharp distinction between the mountain form and the lowland one which comes later in the key. Plants like the lowland form of Malaya occur in Thailand, Hainan and Hong Kong, also in the lowlands of Borneo.
Blume distinguished varieties B and C in Java. I have found no authentic specimen of the former; var. C has rather large almost sterile fronds with sori on basal veins only and is not a distinct variety.
