Description

Tree up to 30 m tall, hemi-epiphytic or (secondarily?) terrestrial. internal hairs absent. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 1-2.5 cm long, minutely white puberulous and with dark brown hairs, subpersistent or caducous. Ovary reddish to whitish.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Thailand (Thailand present), Western present
Thailand; in Malesia: Sumatra (western), Malay Peninsula, Borneo.

Morphology

This species differs from F. retusa, in which it was included as var. borneensis, e.g., in the longer petioles, the conspicuously prominent tertiary venation, the ± impressed lateral veins, the often acuminate apex of the lamina, and the often subpersistent stipules.
