Description

Small tree, the young branches lanate, soon glabrous. Leaves coriaceous, oblong-elliptic, 10-19 by 4-6.5 cm, finely acuminate at apex, the tip 8-16 mm, rounded to subcuneate at base, glabrous on both surfaces; Stipules lanceolate, 3-6 mm long, puberulous, persistent. Inflorescences of terminal and axillary panicles, 3-10 cm long, the rachis and branches sparsely lanate-puberulous when young. Flowers 1.5-2 mm long. Petals glabrous. Stamens c. 7, unilateral with toothed staminodes opposite. Ovary bilocular, lanate-pilose externally. Fruit sagit-tate-pyriform, unilocular, to 5 cm long, the upper portion triangular, 2-3.5 cm long, the base narrowly and abruptly tapered to a stipe 0.6-1 cm long;
