Asia-Tropical: Borneo present, Western Sarawak present
Malesia: Borneo (Western Sarawak, 4 collections).
Notes
The type of D. hewittii is a small plant with dimorphic fronds; that of D. compacta much larger with fertile pinnae nearly as wide as sterile; two later collections have narrower fertile pinnae. In 1972 I united this species with P. merrillii but the latter is quite distinct in venation and sori.
