Description

Tree, 7-20 m high, dbh at least 5 cm; Branchlets at most only sericeous when young; Leaves 2-4-jugate; Inflorescences ramiflorous to axillary, branching basally and along the flat to terete, subglabrous, 1.5-6.8 cm long axis; Flowers c. 3.5 mm in diam. Sepals 5, ovate, margin pilose, outside and inside glabrous; Petals 5, obovate, c. 2 by 0.6-0.8 mm, white; Stamens 8; Fruits with 1-3 well developed lobes, 1.2-1.5 by 1.3-2.2 cm, completely dehiscent, smooth to somewhat ribbed, glabrous, blackish when dry; Seeds immature;

Notes

Guioa normanbiensis is part of the G. rigidiuscula-complex. It has ovate leaflets, (almost) without indumentum and without papillae, a single sac, and fruits with a long slender stipe and slender lobes.
