Specimens from Vietnam have large fruits, 2.5 by 2 cm. 2 Knema globularia seems related to K. attenuata from the Indian Peninsula; through K. globulateria from Thailand it is connected with the Malesian K. latericia, the latter differing, e.g., in flaking bark of twigs, and convex staminal disc.
