Description

Tree up to 15 m, hemi-epiphytic (?) or terrestrial (?). internal hairs absent or present (few). Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 1.5-2.5 cm long, sparsely and minutely white puberulous, drying blackish, caducous, often involute when dry. Ovary partly red.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present; Sulawesi (Sulawesi present)
New Guinea (and Celebes?).

Notes

1The basal bracts are free, basally connate or entirely fused (as in the type of F. patellata). 2A sterile collection from Celebes (Malili), Boschproefstation No. Cel/IV-15, might belong to this species.
