Description
Glabrous except for the inflorescence and flowers hairy when young, soon glabrescent.
Leaves opposite; lamina ovate, 5-10 by 1.5-4 cm, cuneate or truncate at the base to a petiole 10-16 mm long, acuminate and acute at the apex, dull but polished on both sides; venation pinnate with the midrib and the main laterals distinct on both sides.
Inflorescencess at the nodes, a many-flowered spike; axis 60-120 mm long; bracts strongly reflexed, with a dorsal spur-like sac, c. 1 mm long.
Ovary campanulate, c. 1.5 mm long; calyx limb entire, c. 0.2 mm long.
