Description

Perennial with shortly creeping rhizome. Leaves shorter than or as long as the stems, rigid to flaccid, flat, gradually acuminate, scabrous in the upper part, 5-8(-10) mm wide; Inflorescence compound or decompound, often large, usually open. Stamens 3;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical, warmer regions of the whole world present
Widely spread over the warmer regions of the whole world; throughout Malesia and presumably everywhere common.

Notes

Very variable in all its parts. The forms and varieties described have no or little taxonomical value, probably except for: var. pseudonutans KÜK.
