Description

Tree or shrub to 12 m tall, to 20 cm dbh. Branchlets with very visible leaf scars, glabrous. Leaves: Inflorescence few- to many-flowered, robust, lax, 8.8-35 cm long, glabrous; Sepals linear, narrowly ovate or narrowly obovate, 8.6-26 by 2.6-5 mm, 2-6 times as long as wide, apex acute or acuminate; Stamens inserted around the middle of corolla tube at 9.5-12.5 mm from corolla base which is 0.5-0.6 of tube length; Ovaries 1.2-1.7 mm long; Fruit spherical to ovoid;

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Jawa (Jawa present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present, Singapore present); Philippines (Philippines present); Sulawesi (Sulawesi present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), From South India and Sri Lanka to the western Pacific Islands present

From South India and Sri Lanka to the western Pacific Islands; in Malesia: Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo, Java, Philippines, Sulawesi.

Uses

Same uses as C. manghas. Frequently grown as a roadside tree.
