Kibara fragrans

Description

Small tree, c. 3 m, young shoots glabrous. Leaves elliptic-oblong, to 22 by 8.5 cm, chartaceous, base broadly cuneate, apex shortly apiculate, apiculum obtuse, margin irregularly and indistinctly dentate, midrib prominent, principal lateral veins evident, arched, ascending, glabrous; Fruit not seen.

Asia-Tropical, NW. New Guinea present
Malesia: NW. New Guinea.

Notes

The foliage resembles that of Steganthera hirsuta, while the inflorescences are similar to those of Kibara fugax. The green flowers are fragrant.
