Notes

By many authors united with C. leucocephalus (Kyllinga pierreana ; see ), which in my opinion is a distinct species occurring from India to Indo-China, mainly characterised by its semi-globose, paucispiculate heads, larger, truncate glumes, and larger, linear-oblong, black nuts.
Due to the wrong citation of the Cuming-number collected between 1836 and 1840 (1617 should be 1417), MERRILL l.c. indicated as locality: Mindanao (Misamis). The species was again collected in Luzon in 1918.
