Fimbristylis longispica
Placement status: name or taxon excluded (unspecific)
Notes
The type collection “Hrbr. GOERING nr. 10. Java” (P!) is certainly not from Java, but from Japan. The species is closely related to, but in my opinion well distinct from F. dichotoma (L.) VAHL; see, however, , who reduced it to subspecific rank. It is known from Japan, Korea, Quelpaert I., and China, but not from Malesia.
CLARKE'S record for Singapore in refers to a coarse, coastal form of F. dichotoma, which in outward appearance is similar to F. longispica, but differs in several details. RIDLEY'S 'F. longispica' is partly that form, partly F. insignis THWAITES. See also the notes under F. dichotoma.
