Carex rara
Notes
Boott distinguished C. capillacea from C. rara by the capillary stems and leaves, the shorter, ovoid spikelet, the smaller, reflexed, puncticulate utricles, and the caducous glumes. Except for the much longer, linear spikelets (male part much longer than the female one), and the suberect utricles of C. rara, these characters are unreliable. The two might possibly better be regarded as subspecies of a single species.
