Tree to 20 m high, 50 cm in diameter. Leaves: Ovary solitary, puberulous. Seeds 17-21 by 10- 11 mm.

Roots used as fish poison. Stems used for fencing (Palawan). Pounded leaves with water added and rubbed on the head acts as a lather against lice.
