Description

Tree up to 35 m tall, hemi-epiphytic. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 1.5-4 cm long (on opening shoots up to 16 cm long), (sparsely) minutely white puberulous, caducous. Fruits basally embedded in the swollen pedicels.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical, Eastern present
In Malesia: New Guinea (eastern).

Taxonomy

The species resembles F. baola C.C. Berg () from the Solomon Islands, from which it can be distinguished by the usually obtuse apex of the lamina, the longer petioles, and the absence of a distinct cupule.
