Perennial. Leaves rather rigid, flat or somewhat keeled, long-acumi- nate, sparsely scaberulous-pilose on the margins, revolute when dry, 4-8 mm wide; Inflorescence spici- form or racemiform, 3-10 cm long. Flower bisexual. Stamens 3;

From Japan (Hondo, Kyushu) southwards to the Ryu Kyu Islands (Okinawa) and Formosa, very rare in Malesia: Malay Peninsula (Trengganu, Malacca, Johore, Singapore), Banka, Borneo (Saribas).
