Description

Fruit sessile, elliptic in outline, laterally compressed, 7-9 mm long, 3-4.5 mm wide and 2 mm thick, with 3 dorsal, parallel, very blunt ridges;

Distribution

Africa: Seychelles (Seychelles present), Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Jawa (Jawa present); Lesser Sunda Is. present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Maluku (Maluku present); New Guinea present; Philippines (Philippines present); Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka present); Sulawesi (Sulawesi present), Delagoa Bay present, Madagascar present, Malesia into the western Pacific as far as the Ryukyu Islands, New Caledonia and Queensland present, Red Sea present, along the coasts of E Africa present, southern coast of India present, tropical belt of the Indian Ocean present
Cymodocea serrulata is commonly distributed in the Red Sea and along the coasts of E Africa, as far south as Delagoa Bay and Madagascar. It extends through the tropical belt of the Indian Ocean (Seychelles, southern coast of India, Sri Lanka) and Malesia into the western Pacific as far as the Ryukyu Islands, New Caledonia and Queensland. In Malesia it has been recorded from Peninsular Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Philippines, Celebes, Lesser Sunda Islands, Moluccas, and New Guinea.
