Kibara shungolensis

Description

Small tree c. 4 m high, glabrous in all its parts. Leaves elliptic, up to 7 by 3.5 cm, rigidly coriaceous, base broadly cuneate, apex acute or obtuse, margin shallowly dentate, reticulation of veins very evident on both surfaces, petiole c. 5-8 mm, channelled above. Inflorescence of compacted dichasia (fascicles); Fruits not seen.

Malesia: Papua New Guinea (Morobe Prov.; Mumeng Distr., Mt Shungol).
