2 Sands et al 6165, from Bird's Head, with leaves to 26 by 9 cm and fruits 2 by 1,5 cm, is like a giant form Of var. calcarea; its twigs measure 4(-5) mm in diameter at the apex. Possibly it should be recognized as still another, new variety. 1 The male flowers are stouter and have a thicker perianth as compared with those of var. subtilis. The inflorescences are 8-9 cm long, stouter than generally found in the type variety.
