Notothixos papuanus

Description

Leaf lamina ovate to broadly ovate, 2.5-4 by 1.5-3 cm, cuneate at the base to a petiole 3-5 mm long, acute and sometimes shortly acuminate at the apex. Inflorescence spike-like, actually a determinate series of 3 to 4 decussate pedunculate cymules, each produced from the central bud of the one below it; axis with a basal internode 8-10 mm long and succeeding internodes 4-8 mm long; cymules up to 12-flowered with the central 2-6 flowers male.

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present
Malesia: New Guinea.
