Description

Tree, 30 m high, d.b.h. to 85 cm, clear bole to 12 m, straight or crooked. Branchlets strongly angular, shortly yellowish to rusty tomentose in the distal parts, glabrescent, with red-brown, circular lenticels. Leaves: Stipules lanceolate or ovate-lanceo- late, 0.4-0.7 by 0.14-0.21 cm, base subcordate, ajjex strongly acuminate, tomentose. Flowers dimorphic, bisexual, pentamerous, white. Stamens c. 15 mm, tube equalling the corolla tube. Ovary sessile, glabrous, c. 2 mm. Seeds brown, (elliptic-)oblong, flattened, 5.3 by 3 by 1 mm;

Malesia: Borneo.

Uses

Bark used as a fish poison in Sabah.
