Macrosolen surigaoensis

Description

Glabrous. Leaves opposite; lamina narrowly ovate, c. 4 cm long, c. 1.25 cm wide, shortly cuneate at the base to a petiole 3-5 mm long, acuminate and acute at the apex, dull on both sides; venation pinnate with the midrib raised and dark coloured below and the main laterals faintly visible on both sides. Inflorescences at the nodes, an umbel of 1 pair of flowers; axis c. 10 mm long; pedicels 1-3 mm long.

Mindanao present
Malesia: Philippines (Mindanao).

Notes

A doubtful species, known only from the type collection, which is apparently not extant; similar to Macrosolen cochinchinensis, apparently differing in smaller leaves and 2-flowered inflorescence.
