Description

Plants dark brown when dry, densely leafy; basal cataphylls 1 or 2 pairs. Petiole 0.4-0.7 cm long; blade ovate-elliptical, 3-6.5 cm long, about half as wide. Monoecious. Inflorescence to 2.5 cm long, with 1 pair of sterile cataphylls and 3 fertile internodes; flowers 4-6 per fertile bract, 3-seriate. Fruit unknown.

Distribution

Bolivar present, Chimantrá Massif present, Guyana, Mt. Roraima present, Southern America: Venezuela (Venezuela present)
Known from only 3 collections, 2 from Venezuela (Bolívar, Chimantrá Massif), the other the type (Mt. Roraima); probably present in adjacent Guyana.
