Description

Small trees or shrubs. Leaves opposite or subopposite; Inflorescence a terminal or seemingly axillary cyme; Sepals often unequal in length, linear to narrowly ovate, pubescent outside, pubescent or glabrous inside; Stamens inserted near base of corolla tube, completely included in tube; Fruit of paired follicles; Seeds linear, unbeaked, grooved, with an apical coma.

4 species from Africa and Asia; in Malesia 2 species.
